Captain Britain

Captain Britain  bruiser icon

A terrific all-around hero.

Captain Britain
Advantages
Strong attacks with good debuffs, formidable offensive hero.
Gains health when opponents are KO’ed.
Disadvantages
High stamina costs of attacks forces frequent recharges.
Weakened when allies are KO’ed.
Lacks “tanking” ability that some other bruisers have.

I like Cap B. He has great base stats in everything except Health, Stamina and Accuracy. He does a ton of damage, gets extra turns, and does paragon exploitation. What’s not to like? – “Potkettleblack”, MAA Wiki

Captain Britain, who as you might expect is far more well-known in Britain than in America, is an excellent all-around bruiser whose biggest limitation is the enormous stamina cost of his attacks. He doesn’t do everything, but what he does, he does very well.

Like many other bruisers, he lacks the capability to “tank,” or to absorb damage doled out by the opposition while his teammates go to town. Instead, he is one of the best there is in inflicting damage of his own. All of his attacks exact heavy damage, and come with a variety of debuffs, from Weakened to Stunned. His ultimate single attack, Britannic, can hit for a truly absurd amount of damage by using Paragon Exploiter, which maximizes damage to opponents who labor under the debuffs Captain Britain has given out in his previous attacks. His single area attack is effective and can Stun one or all of the opposition, but it costs a tremendous amount of stamina. Really, his stamina costs are his biggest drawback.

Perhaps his most interesting capabilities are his Roar of Valor, Lion of Avalon and Heir to the Otherworld. The Lion grants him health (not stamina, unfortunately) when an opponent goes down. When he gains the Roar of Valor, all of his statistics increase, making it difficult for opponents to hurt him. Finally, he sometimes gains Heir to the Otherworld after attacking a debuffed opponent, which grants him an extra turn. He does best in focusing on a single target and beating him flat, using the debuffs he inflicts to put increasing damage on his victim.

PVP: Cap used to be a huge factor in PVP, but because of the current preponderance of high-damage blasters (the only opponents to whom he is truly vulnerable), he isn’t played in PVP nearly as often as he once was.

Alternate Uniforms: While an alt is possible, I don’t foresee one coming any time soon.

Strategy Suggestions

Captain Britain is all about devastating offense. If you aren’t facing a blaster, Cap can go to town, either focusing on a single opponent, going from Right is Might and Save the Queen finally to the catastrophically powerful Britannic, or you can use Smashing first to try to Stun the entire opposition.

If there’s a blaster in the opposition, you would do best to have your agent and other teammate focus on the blaster before he/she can do severe damage to Britain. Meanwhile, Cap can do his thing to a single opponent. You’re welcome to try to Stun the opposition, including the blaster, but if the Stun doesn’t process, their blaster has an immediate advantage which he will certainly use to blast the hide off of Britain.

He is a master damage dealer; it might be worth your while to experiment with a “tank” lineup that will protect him while he lays waste to the other guys.
