Leveling Advantages by Class

If you want to level a particular class of hero or agent, here’s a lengthy set of tables that tell you which classes get the most experience from each mission.

Players often find themselves “farming” missions for various things: command points, particular items, and so forth. If you’re farming to give your heroes (or your agent) experience, wouldn’t it be useful to know which missions are best for farming for particular classes? The tables below should help you with that.

Notes on Information: Naturally, some missions lend themselves to advantages for more than one class. The class with the strongest advantage is listed first.

In boss and mini-boss fights, the class of the boss/mini-boss is always listed first.

These results are not mathematically weighted. They are based on the assumption that class opposites fare better in battles: i.e. a Tactician would do best against a Blaster opponent. They also do not take into account the mandatory or optional team-ups (for example, Iron Man, a Blaster, is the mandatory team-up in mission 1.1.2’s boss fight, but a Bruiser is the optimal class for that battle). They do not include special operations or other limited-time missions. It would be very difficult to “weight” the leveling chances mathematically, as there are so many player-dependent variables that affect point rewards. Sometimes the premium missions (the 6th missions in every chapter) are prime territory for leveling individual heroes, though they are not always friendly to that hero’s class.

Some missions require mandatory team-ups with specific heroes. Hover over those mission numbers to see who that team-up hero is. If none is listed, there is no mandatory team-up (there may be an optional team-up).

Sometimes lower-level battles give more experience points than do mini-boss and boss battles. This is particularly true of hard (red) battles.

Limited-time covert and special operations are not included.

How to Use This Page: Decide what hero you wish to level up, and note that hero’s class. Find a mission in the Quick Reference chart that applies to that hero’s class. Scroll down to the mission information in the lengthier chapter table, and note the additional information about the mission (including other classes that may receive a lot of experience). Play that mission and win experience points!

Season 1, Chapters 1-12

Note: Chapter 12 is unusual, as the first five missions in the chapter consist entirely of bosses. For most efficient experience and command point farming, the bosses should be fought all at once. Lower-level players may be more successful by defeating some or all of the bosses in individual combat.

Season 2, Chapters 1-4

Season 2 features two major additions: “heroic battles” and “incursions.” Heroic battles are individual battles between a single hero, or small group of heroes, and a selected single villain or group of villains. Incursions are battles between your team and a randomly selected PVP team, explained in the story as “incursions” by “evil” alternates of the actual agents and heroes from different timelines. The heroic battles are focused on individual heroes and not on classes, and incursions are unpredictable as far as opponent selection (and, oddly enough, give no experience points). Therefore they are not included in the table below. Heroic battles are useful when considering farming for command points and experience points for individual heroes. Incursions are necessary for completing season and operations tasks, and can be the source of powerful gear in the reward roulette.
