Loki

Excellent support hero once leveled and chipped.

Loki
Advantages
An array of debuffs confuse and tax the opposition.
Almost always goes first.
Disadvantages
Not strong in dealing damage.
All attacks have high stamina costs.
Generally a liability in PVP.

If you were able to win Loki during a 2013 Special Operations, you may have been disappointed in him coming out of the gate. You may have even set him aside and developed other heroes. If you did, you’re wasting a potentially valuable hero. Loki will never be the biggest damage-dealer in the game, but his tricky debuffs and illusions can set the opposition fighting among themselves and striking at shadows. He also has the capability to randomly disappear when being attacked, and reappear to inflict a Backstab upon his attacker. Nifty. I find him a lot of fun to run in battle.

Loki’s only real weapon-based attack is his first, the Throwing Dagger. It does moderate damage, and because of its Guaranteed Hit and True Strike capabilities, almost always hits. His other attacks are far different. The Fog of Chaos makes its target’s next attack restore damage instead of inflicting it. The Trickster Seal reverses the effects of some (not all) of the opposition’s buffs, turning Strengthened into Weakened, for example. And his last attack, Hall of Mirrors, puts the dreaded Disoriented debuff on all of your opponents (unless they dodge it, naturally), thus driving them to possibly attack one another instead of your team.

Loki’s health, attack and defense stats are quite low to begin with, so he won’t be that effective until he gains some levels and some ISO chips. His stamina, accuracy and evasion are quite high out of the gate. Unfortunately, his attacks all cost abnormally high stamina, so even with his naturally high stamina levels, he quickly runs out of gas and needs a recharge during many battles.

PVP: Loki does relatively little damage in battle nor does he provide a lot of defense, and in PVP, most of the teams have ways to counter debuffs, so his effectiveness does not outweigh his liabilities. Since you have no way to know who you’re going to fight before going into battle, your best bet is to use a more powerful and capable hero in PVP.

Alternate Uniforms: None as yet. I don’t foresee one being released until the third Thor movie reaches theaters and Playdom releases a special operation to go with it, if then.

Strategy Suggestions

Pick your battles. In most missions, Loki’s debuff capabilities can wreak havoc on the opposition, but he needs a heavy damage dealer to pair with for maximum efficiency.

Loki goes first almost all the time, even ahead of Quicksilver in PVP. If Loki is facing a blaster, start with the Throwing Dagger against that opponent to gain the Tactician’s bonus attack. Then, depending on the opposition, either hit one of the opponents with the Fog of Chaos or disorient the entire team with Hall of Mirrors. The Trickster Seal does not activate until the second round, and many times you will choose another attack over this one, as it is only useful if the other side has arrayed itself with particular buffs.

The Throwing Dagger is also useful for finishing off an opponent, as it almost always hits.
